Celebrating Daniel: From Streets to Soccer Success

Daniel was living on the streets as a young boy, vulnerable, alone, and without direction. Life was a constant struggle for food, safety, and hope. He had no access to education or structured care, and his talent for football had no chance to grow.

His Journey Before Hope

In 2013, Daniel became one of the very first boys to join Hold My Hand. At that time, he had been surviving on the streets—completely alone, without guidance, and with his future hanging in uncertainty. Life had robbed him of both opportunity and dignity, and his love for football had nowhere to flourish.

At HMH, Daniel found safety, structure, and mentorship. He returned to school for the first time in years and was given the space to grow emotionally and physically. His passion for football was quickly noticed, and he received specialized coaching and played in multiple charity tournaments.

When HMH Reached Out

Today, Daniel has grown into a strong leader and role model. He served as assistant coach for the HMH Under-17 team, leading them to win the Lemi Cup. This year, he returned as head coach and took the team to the finals again. His leadership and dedication have come full circle.

Beyond football, Daniel experienced something even more powerful—he was reunited with his family after 12 long years. Now, he dreams of coaching a national youth team and continues to give back by mentoring the next generation of boys at Hold My Hand.
