Supporting One Another to Create a Better World
Supporting one another is one of the most powerful ways we can make a positive impact in the world. When we extend a helping hand, we strengthen our communities, uplift those in need, and build a foundation of kindness that benefits everyone. Small acts of generosity and compassion can inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what we can see. By working together and looking out for each other, we foster a world where empathy and cooperation thrive, making it a better place for future generations.
ABOUT US
Committed to Compassion and Community
Hold My Hand is a dedicated Ethiopian charity organization founded in 2014 by three university students who were deeply concerned about the increasing number of homeless youth in the Bole sub-city area of Addis Ababa. What began as a weekend support group in 2013 has since evolved into a permanent shelter, providing safety, family, and opportunities for children in need. We focus on offering vulnerable boys and girls not just a place to live, but the chance to rebuild their futures with love, education, and support.

ABOUT US
Who we are
OUR MISSION
At Hold My Hand, our mission is to provide comprehensive support to vulnerable children—those living on the streets or from underprivileged families—by offering shelter, education, nutrition, life skills, and emotional support. We are committed to creating an environment where these children can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential, helping them become confident, self-sufficient individuals.
OUR VISION
We envision a future where every child in Ethiopia, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling, productive, and secure life. Our goal is to offer not just temporary relief, but long-term solutions that empower children to break free from cycles of poverty and neglect
OUR HISTORY
In 2013, Hold My Hand was born from the compassion and vision of three university students who saw a growing crisis among the youth of Addis Ababa. They wanted to provide more than just food or shelter—they wanted to give these children a chance for a better life. By 2014, their efforts became a full-fledged charity, registered with the Ethiopian government, and the organization grew to include foster care, family reunification services, and support for at-risk boys.
