ABOUT THE PROJECT
Empowering Girls Through Football
The Hold My Hand Soccer Project is a life-changing sports initiative under Hold My Hand Charity, designed to empower vulnerable and orphaned children through the game of football. Founded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the project uses soccer not just as a game, but as a tool for healing, education, and long-term transformation.
Vision
To raise a generation of disciplined, skilled, and ethical football players who become role models on and off the field.
Mission
To use football as a means to restore hope, build character, promote teamwork, and provide opportunities for street children and those from severely disadvantaged backgrounds.






MORE THAN A TEAM, A MOVEMENT
Here's what makes our girls' program powerful:
Program Structure
Teams: Boys and girls categorized under U13, U15, U17, and Higher Division
Total Players: Over 200 children actively participating
Fields Used: Beshale School, Goro School, and Bole Addis Fields
Sub-City: Lemi Kura, Addis Ababa
What We Provide
Free football training by licensed coaches
School and sports equipment (uniforms, shoes, bags)
Nutritional support after training
Participation in national and international tournaments (e.g., Norway Cup, Dana Cup, Donosti Cup)
Life skills, mentorship, and psychosocial support

Many children have been scouted and joined top-tier Ethiopian clubs
Children have traveled internationally to represent Ethiopia
Several children have been reunited with families through the program
Players also serve in church ministries and volunteer as youth leaders
