My Story
Kalkidan lives with both parents and her younger brother in Addis Ababa, where the family faces severe financial hardship. Her father struggles with chronic health issues and can only work occasionally, while her mother cleans at the Hold My Hand center. In 2017, Kalkidan and her brother were enrolled in HMH's support program for vulnerable families, gaining access to education, meals, and care. She is bright, nurturing, and doing well academically, with dreams of becoming a doctor.
