My Story
Dawit was born into a kind but very poor family in Wolayta, Ethiopia. Unable to support him, his family trusted a neighbor who promised a better future in Addis Ababa. Instead, Dawit was forced into child labor, collecting scrap for long hours with little food and harsh punishments. One rainy morning, Mikiyas, founder of Hold My Hand Charity, saw Dawit and brought him into the HMH family. Now safe and cared for, Dawit is in Grade 5 at Elshadai School, catching up on education with tutoring and support.
