ABOUT
My Story
Bilal—affectionately known as "Bilia"—was born in Dire Dawa and later moved to Dessie, where most of his childhood was spent. He comes from a large family, with three younger sisters and two older brothers. He never met his biological father, and his mother eventually remarried. At one point, Bilal was sent to live with his grandmother in Sendafa, but instability forced him back to Dessie. There, he lived with his mother and stepfather, who initially promised to support him and send him to school. However, things began to fall apart. The household became toxic, and Bilal was often the target of verbal conflict and emotional abuse. As the situation worsened, Bilal made the heartbreaking decision to leave home in search of safety, care, and peace.
